vibedout Link FAQ

What vibedout Link is, which tags work, how your page and bookings work, and what data we keep.

vibedout Link · Updated

The basics

It’s the app that turns an NFC tag into the front door of your business. Someone holds their phone to the tag and your page opens: your links, WhatsApp, Instagram, address, a button to leave you a Google review and a button to book an appointment. Tag, page and bookings in one place.

Does the person who taps my tag need to install anything?

No. Your page opens straight away, with no app and no account: on almost any Android phone with NFC, or an iPhone XS or later. If a phone has no NFC, it can scan the QR code for your page. To tap it properly, read how NFC tags work.

What do I need to write my tags and manage my page?

An Android phone with NFC and the vibedout Link app. There’s no iPhone app yet. A computer can’t write tags either, because it has no NFC.

Where do I download the app?

The Android app is at install.vibedout.app. It’s listed there as “Vibeout NFC”, its earlier name; once installed, it’s called vibedout Link. You need Android 7.0 or later with NFC.

It’s an APK file, not a store install: Android asks your permission once to install from your browser or file manager, and Google Play Protect may show a warning the first time. It isn’t on Google Play yet; when it is, we’ll say so here.

How much does it cost?

Everything is free today — we’re in early access. What comes next, including the paid plan, is on Pricing. Physical tags are sold separately and aren’t for sale yet; until then you can use tags you buy elsewhere (next section).

Do I need an account?

To try it, no. Reading a tag, writing a link to one and making a QR code all work without an account. Only what’s saved under your name — your pages, your tags and your bookings — needs a vibedout account, which is the same one for all our apps.

Tags

Which NFC tags work?

NXP NTAG213, NTAG215 and NTAG216, and MIFARE Ultralight EV1; compatible clones of those chips work too. They’re the most common: almost every NFC sticker, card and keychain sold online carries one. When you buy, look for “NTAG213” in the description.

Clones read and write the same, but password protection may not work on some of them.

Which tags don’t work?

  • MIFARE Classic: the app recognises it but can’t read or write it. Many Samsung and Pixel phones can’t read it at all.
  • NTAG 424 DNA (the one with built-in copy protection) and ICODE: not supported yet.
  • Bank cards, transit cards and hotel or office access cards: they aren’t made to be rewritten.

The app tells you before it writes. Short vibedout links fit even on the NTAG213 (144 bytes of space). If you write something longer, like a text, a contact or a Wi-Fi network, you may need a bigger tag: NTAG215 or NTAG216.

Can I change where my tag points without rewriting it?

Yes. The tag stores a short vibedout link, not the final address. You change the destination in the app, under My tags, and the same tag opens the new one without you tapping it with your phone again. You need to be signed in, because the change is tied to your account.

Can I protect my tag so nobody can rewrite it?

Yes, with a password (Tools → Protect, Android only). Without one, anyone with an NFC app can write over your tag; with one, they can’t, even with the app.

You can remove or change the password whenever you like: vibedout Link never locks a tag forever. The app remembers the password on your phone and, if you’re signed in, keeps an encrypted copy in your account so you don’t lose it. If another app already locked the tag permanently, it can’t be rewritten any more — not even with vibedout Link.

Can my phone act as a tag? (Tools → Lock-screen quick access)

On Android, your phone can pretend to be a tag: you pick something in the app (your page, a link) and another NFC phone reads it by touching yours, with no physical tag. Your screen has to be on and unlocked, and phone-to-phone reading is less reliable than reading a tag; the QR code always works.

On iPhone it doesn’t exist: Apple doesn’t allow it for apps like ours. There you share with the QR code.

Your page

What can I put on my page?

Links, WhatsApp and social networks, contact details, an address, a Google review button and a button to book appointments. Your page lives at link.vibedout.app, followed by a code.

Can the app draft it for me?

Yes. You describe your business and the app proposes a first draft of the page; you review it and decide whether to save it. The free plan includes one try (see Pricing).

How do I get customers to leave a Google review?

Add the Google review button to your page, with the review link from your Google business profile. You can also write that same link straight onto a tag: one tap takes your customer right to leaving the review.

On the free plan your page gets an automatically generated code. Choosing your own name, like link.vibedout.app/your-business, is part of the paid plan, which you can’t sign up for yet.

What happens if I unpublish or delete a page?

Unpublishing takes it off the internet but deletes nothing: you can publish it again whenever you want. Deleting it removes it, and after 91 days it’s erased completely. In the meantime, tags that pointed to it stop showing your page.

Bookings

How do bookings work?

Your customers pick a service, a day and a time on your page, without creating an account. Your customer and you both get a confirmation email, and a reminder 24 hours before the appointment.

Does it take deposits or connect to Google Calendar?

Not yet. Today bookings are confirmed by email; deposits and the Google Calendar connection aren’t available yet.

Statistics and privacy

What do I see in the statistics?

How many taps each tag gets, how many times your page is viewed and how many clicks each link gets, over a date range you choose.

Do you keep data about people who tap my tag?

Nothing that identifies whoever taps. For each tap we keep the tag’s code, the time, a general device type (for example, phone), the site they came from and the country. We don’t keep their IP address or use cookies to count it. Individual taps are deleted after 13 months and only the daily counts remain.

Does the app send usage statistics?

Yes, anonymous ones, and you can turn them off. The app counts how many times it’s opened and which features get used — never who you are or what you scan. To turn them off, open Tools and switch off “Share anonymous usage”.

What data does vibedout keep about my account?

Your name, your email and what you create in the app: pages, tags, bookings and brand kits. The details are in the privacy notice.

How do I delete my account?

Write to support@vibedout.app from your account’s email and we’ll delete it. You can also do it in the app, in your account dialog, with “Delete account…”: a page opens in your browser where you can download your data and confirm.

The account is deactivated for 90 days — if you sign in again, it comes back exactly as you left it — and after that it’s deleted. In the end your pages and brand kits are erased, and your tags stop being tied to your account. Other records, like your customers’ bookings and the emails sent, aren’t erased along with the account yet: they’re erased separately if you ask us by email. What’s only stored on your phone, like your scan history, can’t be deleted from there.

When something doesn’t work

My tag won’t read or write

Try the guide My tag isn’t reading: it goes in order, from most common to least, and explains each message the app shows.

Who can I talk to?

A person, by email: support@vibedout.app. Below is how long we usually take to reply.

Still stuck?

Write to support@vibedout.app. Or use the contact form. Tell us which screen you saw and what phone or computer you were on — it helps us fix it faster. We reply as soon as we can — usually within 1 business day, Monday–Friday, 9am–6pm (Mexico City time). This isn't a guaranteed response time, but it's the target we hold ourselves to.
