vibedout NFC Flutter · v0.1.2 · Android · early build

The NFC tools, rebuilt in Flutter.

Write a tag, share live from the phone, or open up any tag and see exactly what is on it. The phone that taps your sticker later needs no app at all: it just opens what you wrote.

What it does

Write anything a tag can hold

A link, a note, a contact card, a Wi-Fi network, a phone number, an SMS, a location, an Android app. The size is counted as you type, and every write is read back to check it landed.

Share live: the phone is the tag

No sticker at hand? The phone acts as an NFC tag another phone can tap, with a QR code for phones without NFC.

Inspect any tag

Scan a tag to see its chip (NTAG213/215/216, Ultralight EV1), whether it is a genuine NXP chip, how much memory is used and every record on it.

Memory map

Page by page, in hex and text, with each page labelled: serial, lock bytes, capability container, data, configuration, password.

Protect a tag

Set or remove a tag's password, and choose from which page on it applies.

Tools

Find where your phone's NFC antenna is, see what your phone's NFC can do, and keep a log of every read and write.

Worth knowing

An early build

This is the first public build of the Flutter version (0.1.0). Android's app info still shows it as 1.0.0. Expect rough edges.

Android only, for now

There is no iPhone version yet. Share live needs an Android phone with NFC turned on.

Installed by hand, not from a store

The APK is signed with a development key. Android asks once to allow installs from your browser or file manager, and Play Protect may warn on first install.

Some cards will not work

MIFARE Classic cards cannot be written on many Samsung and Pixel phones. Common NTAG stickers, cards and key fobs work.

Download

Android

v0.1.2

Android 7.0 or newer · a phone with NFC

  • APK — Open it on the phone; Android asks once to allow installs from that app

iOS

Not yet built

Not built yet — an iPhone build needs a Mac and a paid Apple developer account.

SHA-256 checksums

Verify with sha256sum on Linux or Get-FileHash in PowerShell. The builds are unsigned, so this is the only way to confirm you have the file that was actually published.
